Come Sunday 15th of March to Tuesday 17th of March, 2009, Lagos will play host to insurance brokers drawn all over Africa for the 2009 AIBA International Seminar. Venue is:- Sheraton Lagos Hotels Towers, Ikeja.
The Seminar which is the second to be held in Nigeria would highlight fundamental challenges confronting insurance broking in the continent as well as serve as a networking session by the practitioners.
Latching on the theme “Transformation Management of African Insurance & Reinsurance Potentials” the Seminar would further entrenched the roles of brokers in contemporary global economy dynamics with particular reference to Reinsurance broking in Africa.
Chairman of the Seminar Planning Committee, Chief B. A. Olatunde-Agbeja observed that the event would serve as a veritable forum to among other things re-unite insurance and re-insurance brokers across Africa and encourage the exchange of insurance and re-insurance business amongst the practitioners.
He disclosed that a host of dignitaries and resource persons have been slated to attend the continental event. Among them is the President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola as well as the Honorable Minster of State for Finance, Mr. Remi Babalola and Ms. P.M.G Soares the Secretary General of African Insurance Organization (AIO) Nigeria’s Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Fola Daniel would also be in attendance while Chief J. Akin-George, Chairman AIBA would be the Chief Host.
To present the paper on Transformation Management of African Insurance & Reinsurance Potentials is the Executive Vice Chairman of IGI Plc, Mr. Remi Olowude while Mr. Aristide Kaneho of Cica-Re Lome, Togo, Mr. Essel Kwesi Koomson of KEK Insurance Brokers, Ghana and Mr. Johnnie Wilcox of United Africa Insurance Brokers, Nigeria will also deliver papers at the seminar.
